Painting Beyond the Basics

Continue the exploration of your chosen painting media and subject matter while developing a stronger artistic voice. Students will create a composition from sketch or photograph, then enlarge and transfer to their painting surface. Use of material, color theory, mixing, application, and brushwork will be covered through demonstrations and exercises. Techniques and skills learned will allow students to explore their painting style and complete their new composition. Advanced students will work at their own level to improve individual style, expression, and abilities.*Oil painting only for knowledgeable/advanced painters in that medium.
