Description

Encaustic Art

Instructor: Karen Eide

Encaustic painting is a process that uses melted, pigmented beeswax to create layered and luminous work. In this workshop, designed for all levels, artist Karen Eide will lead you through encaustic painting basics as well as how to add inks, pastels, graphite, watercolor, collage, mixed media, and texture! You’ll walk away with enough information to safely set up your own encaustic studio, a materials and equipment list, sources of supply, plus a toolbelt full of new techniques and ideas. Most materials included.

This program has been organized in collaboration with the VMFA Office of Statewide Partnerships.
